I started making chandeliers for my underwater themed dining room and I was originally inspired by a glass jellyfish chandelier I found in the book, Artforms in Nature by German Zoologist, Ernst Haeckel. I didn’t know how to work in glass but my mold making skills were up to par to make something in cast plaster. I chose the octopus because they are the perfect creature for making any shape color or abstraction with. I can pretty much design something for any situation as they can adapt to all aesthetics, modern, baroque, Victorian, mid-century, Gothic, minimal, space age, fun house, haunted house, beach house, log cabin, storybook, uptight serious, drop ceiling cubicle, scary attic, moldy basement, punk rock bedroom, hair metal, glam rock, Disco, fancy feast, mid western, upper western, lower western, western western, but not eastern western. sorry about that.
